GET OUT THE WORD: SEND A LETTER TO THE EDITOR!

Let everyone in your community know about the movement to bring the troops home from Iraq!  Send a letter to the editor of your local daily or weekly newspaper and get this information on the most read page of your paper.  Be sure to include all of your contact information for verification.  We’ve also included a template of a letter below.  Feel free to personalize it or highlight a point that is particularly important to you.  Please note that many papers limit the length of election-related letters to 200 words and that the paper must receive letters before OCTOBER 30th.

On the reverse, we’ve provided a list of towns/cities that will have the question on the ballot.  Below, we’ve included contact info for some local papers. If you are aware of others, please send letters to them.  Please also consider sending versions of this to any community/organization newsletter or bulletins!  Together, we will spread the word.

To the Editor:

On November 7th, voters in <YOUR TOWN/County/Area> can join those in 139 towns and cities across Massachusetts to end the war and to bring the troops home from Iraq.

Your YES vote will send the message to politicians of all parties that the loss of lives abroad, the loss of health, education, and housing programs at home, and the loss of global security the war has caused is unacceptable.

Your YES vote will be the best support you can provide to the troops who have done all they've been asked to do and more.  Most of them say it’s time to come home.  Your vote can help make that happen.
