The law
firm of Jackson Lewis is hosting a breakfast seminar here to pitch
itself to Western Mass. employers as the key to “Staying Union
Free.” Jackson Lewis is one of the oldest and largest “union
avoidance” law firms in the nation - part of a multi-million dollar
industry designed to frustrate the exercise of our human and civil rights. Please
visit JwJ,
Mass AFL-CIO, and American
Rights at Work.
Union busters profit by
manipulating our weak labor laws. The Employee
Free Choice Act will strengthen labor laws. It holds anti-union
employers accountable; guarantees workers a free and fair chance to form a
union; and forces employers to stop dragging out contract negotiations. Now
Jackson Lewis wants to stay profitable after the Employee Free Choice Act
passes next year. EFCA would have passed Congress already but was
filibustered to death in the Senate and Jackson Lewis admits, “Experts
say that no matter who becomes president, some version of EFCA will likely
become law.” So Jackson Lewis is coming to Springfield to drum up
clients through fear of EFCA, a law that protects our basic human rights. (Join
One Million Strong for the Employee Free Choice Act.)
