-- January 29: "The Young Honduran Revolution": Documentary
about 3000 university students battling police on campus following the 2009
military coup. 90 min.; Spanish with
English subtitles.
-- February 5: "USA vs Al-Alarian": In 2003, university professor and
pro-Palestinian activist Sami Al-Arian was arrested in Florida, charged with providing material
support to a terror organization, and held in solitary confinement for more
than 2 years. While the Bush
administration considered this a landmark case in its campaign against
terrorism, Sami Al-Arian claims he was targeted in an attempt to silence his
political views. 52 min. Melva Underbakke, a friend of Al-Arian's family, will speak as an eyewitness to the events in Florida.
