Dear Jo,

I, on behalf of the USO and all of the military families we serve, would like to thank you and all of your brothers and sisters for thinking of the families of the men and women serving our country in the military. When you first contacted me I thought it was a little strange that a group centered on "peace" would be offering to help military members and their families. Upon talking with you further I came to understand that your thoughts were with the people and not the job they were doing. People may disagree on how things should be accomplished but people in need were just that, people in need.

The presentation ceremony in Sunderland last Wednesday was very moving for me. It showed me just how much you and everyone in your organization care about people and the land. I sincerely hope that sometime in the near future you will be able to help the farmers in Iraq replant their fields. It can never replace what was destroyed but perhaps it can be a new beginning.

Again, thank you for thinking of the Pioneer Valley USO and helping us accomplish our mission while you were accomplishing yours. Your donation will help our Food Pantry help families in need.
